Don't assume. Ask that person who offended you what they really meant to communicate before you assume the worst. Tell them how it made you feel, but do it calmly and with respect.
Share your weakness e.g. It really upsets me when people say/do xyz. Then share what you need e.g. it would really help me if you would say/do abc instead.

Do you strive to be the best parent you can be, but sometimes feel a little lost in how to strike the balance between raising your child to be an adult who is happy and secure, but also successful and God-fearing? The good news is that you don’t need to be perfect, but you do need to be “good enough”. Good-Enough Parenting is a Movie Therapy based parenting programme developed by John & Karen Louis that aims to show us how to identify and meet the core needs of our children while avoiding passing down your own dysfunctional traits, so that you can have a head start at being a “good enough parent”.
There will be classes held every Wednesday, starting February 13, 2013 at 7 pm, at the Bahamas International Church of Christ building on Thompson Boulevard for 5 weeks.
$50 will enroll you in the class and give you a copy of the Good Enough Parenting Book and a T-shirt.
