If you have diabetes, especially if you are on insulin, love yourself, take care of your health, and invest in a glucometer to measure the glucose in your blood. It will help your doctor if you bring a list of your readings to your visit, we can make sure you are on the right dose of medications. And, if you aren't feeling well, you can check your sugar at home to see if that is what is causing you to feel ill, and go to your doctor for a check up if necessary. If you have not eaten yet for the day your sugar should be between 80 and 126 mg/dl. If you have eaten it should not be more than 160 mg/dl.
