Gastroenteritis (V omiting and Diarrhea)

Gastroenteritis is going around. It's usually caused by a stomach virus. If you are having vomitting and diarrhea, the most important thing is to keep up with your fluids and avoid dehydration.
Here are some suggestions:
 You should drink something every time you have an episode of vomiting or diarrhea. Take small slow sips of a cup Pedialyte or  Gatorade. You might also try drinking clear soda, such as 7UP or Sprite; clear broths; or non-caffeinated sports drinks, such as Gatorade. Affected adults should try to drink plenty of liquid every day, taking small, frequent sips.
 Ease back into eating. Gradually begin to eat bland, easy-to-digest foods such as soda crackers, toast, gelatin, bananas, rice and chicken. Stop eating if your nausea returns. 
 Try the BRATTY diet: Small amounts of Bananas, Rice, Apples / apple sauce, Tea, Toast, or Yogurt
 Avoid certain foods and substances until you feel better. These include dairy products, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and fatty or highly seasoned foods.

All the best for the new year! Any New Year's resolutions? 
Think of one small achievable thing, that if you stuck to it, would make a big difference in your life. Try and do that one thing consistently for January. If you succeed at that, you have created a new healthy amazing habit that has changed your life for the better. Next select and try to stick to one more small important thing for February.
Trying to change a lot of things at the same time is not usually successful. A long list of New Year's resolutions may make you feel overwhelmed and you are less likely to stick to them.

Need more energy?
Try going to bed an hour or two earlier.
Try regular exercise. Just 15 -30 min a day will make a big difference to how u feel. You may feel tired at first, but as your body gets fit your energy will increase.
Try taking a multivitamin daily. Most of us don't get all the vitamins and minerals our bodies need from our regular fruit and vegetable deficient diets.
Try drinking more water. A lot of the time, our feelings of fatigue are linked to us being dehydrated.
Take a 15 minute nap. A 15-20 minute nap can revive u. Any longer than that though, you won't want to get up and you'll feel sleepy. Set a timer for 20 minutes!

To avoid heartburn - Avoid heartburn triggers. Stay away from foods and beverages that trigger your heartburn symptoms:
Alcohol
Carbonated beverages
Chocolate
Citrus fruits, such as oranges or lemons
Coffee or tea (regular or decaffeinated)
Fatty or fried foods
Foods containing tomato, such as spaghetti sauce, salsa, or pizza
Garlic and onions
Mint
Spicy foods, such as those containing chili or curry

Don't go to bed with a full stomach

Don't go to bed with a full stomach. Eat meals at least two to three hours before lying down. This will give food time to digest and empty from your stomach, and acid levels a chance to decrease before putting your body in a position where heartburn is more likely to occur. Don’t snack close to bedtime or lie down right after a meal.

By making even small changes in your diet and activity level, you'll notice yourself feeling and looking better. But don't get discouraged if your weight loss doesn't happen overnight. A loss of one to two pounds per week is considered a healthy weight loss. And, according to the American Heart Association, people who lose weight gradually are more likely to keep it off.

Eat a wide variety of vegetables

Eat a wide variety of vegetables, including dark greens. Along with the many outstanding nutrients, the fiber in vegetables (and whole fruits) will help you feel full.
Try to eat a fruit with breakfast and salad or vegetables with lunch and dinner every day.
